Sulekha Hilton always knew she would be a colorist. As a child, she fondly remembers playing with color bottles in the bath and grew up experimenting on her friend’s hair. When it came time for her to pick a career, there was no doubt in her mind that she needed to pursue one in the haircare industry.
In 2002, Sulekha went to work at the Sally Hershberger at John Frieda Salon. There she trained with Johnathan Gale and Lorri Goddard who gave her the foundation to master both the foiling and balayage highlighting techniques.
Sulekha believes that getting to know her clients is the corner stone of her work. It is through those relationships that she can implement her philosophy: What palette someone wears should be decided by more than skin tone and eye color- it represents who a person is, who they want to be, who they are becoming, and who they want you to see.
Sulekha has worked on many celebrities for tv, film, and print. She has been featured in The Hollywood Reporter, InStyle, US Weekly, Women’s Health, and Haute Living. Learn more about her and her work here: @raucouscolour
